Find your knitting pattern (Hotmail / Outlook version)Updated a month ago

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to check if an email is in the Junk/Spam folder in Hotmail (now Outlook.com):

📬 How to Check if a Mail Is in the Spam Box in Hotmail (Outlook.com)

🔹 Step 1: Open Outlook.com (formerly Hotmail)

  1. Visit https://outlook.live.com.

  2. Log in using your Hotmail, Outlook, or Microsoft account credentials.

🔹 Step 2: Locate the “Junk Email” Folder

  • Look at the left-hand panel with your folders.

  • Scroll down if necessary, and find the folder called “Junk Email”.

  • Click on it. This is where spam or suspected phishing emails are automatically sent.

🔹 Step 3: Search for a Specific Email

You can search within the Junk Email folder:

  1. Click on the search bar at the top.

  2. Type: in:junk [knitting or absolute]
    Example: in:junk knitting or in:junk absolutepatterns.com

This filters emails within the Junk folder only.

🔹 Step 4: Mark It as “Not Junk” (Optional)

If an email was incorrectly sent to the Junk folder:

  1. Open the email.

  2. Click “It’s not junk” at the top.

  3. The message will be moved to your Inbox, and similar messages will be treated as safe in the future.

🔹 Step 5 (Optional): Check Blocked Senders or Rules

If certain emails are consistently going to Junk:

  • Go to SettingsView all Outlook settings.

  • Under MailJunk email, check:

    • Blocked senders and domains

    • Safe senders and domains

  • Make sure the sender is not blocked and optionally add them to the Safe senders list.
